We are actively recruiting talented postdocs and graduate students.
If you think you might be interested in joining us, please read below and then contact me directly at kkryan at ucdavis dot edu. I am currently a training member in the Molecular, Cellular, and Integrative Physiology, Neuroscience, and Nutritional Biology graduate groups, with the possibility to join other grad groups according to student interest.
Research in the Ryan Lab explores the neuroendocrine regulation of metabolism across multple levels of biological organization-- from cellular signaling pathways, to neuronal circuits, to whole-body physiology and behavior. Trainees will almost certainly spend a substantial amount of time at the bench, at the microscope, and in the small animal facility performing in vivo research. Research topics and techniques in the lab are likely to be of interest to future employers in both academia and industry.
If this sounds like fun to you, please read some of our recent publications and send me an email if you think our interests are complementary. Please include: a CV, a brief statement about why you are interested in joining the lab, and the name and contact info for 3 references.
