• August 2017- Karl passes his qualifying exam and is advanced to candidacy for the PhD !!!

• July 2017- Karen is promoted to Associate Professor with tenure :)

• July 2017- Karl's paper is accepted for publication in Endocrinology.  Congratulations!!

• July 2017- Karen visits the University of Cincinnati to give a talk at the Cincinnati Mouse Metabolic Phenotyping Center.

• June 2017- Congratulations to CBS and NPB Class of 2017 graduates Jennifer Lai and Niloufar Mohajerani.  Thank you for your hard work in lab.  We will miss you!

• May 2017- We are so proud of Nilou, who was named the CBS "Undergraduate of the Year"!!!  This award is given to one outstanding graduating senior in the College of Biological Sciences. The award is given based on three criteria: academic excellence, research activity, and involvement in service to the campus or the community. 

• May 2017- Karen travels to Chicago to give a "State of the Art" lecture at Digestive Disease Week.  It was fun catching up with old friends, and meeting new colleagues.

• April 2017- Congratulations to Karl Larson, who is a winner of the poster competition at the 2017 MCIP colloquium :)  

• April 2017- Congratulations to NPB undergraduate Niloufar Mohajerani, who will begin dental school at the UCSF School of Dentistry in Fall 2017! 

• April 2017- Congratulations to Aki Chaffin, who will be a pre-doctoral trainee on the UC-Davis NEI T32 training grant, beginning in Fall 2017.  We are really excited about this project, which focuses on a novel mechanism by which light-at-night may act on neuroendocrine circuits to regulate hepatic metabolism.

• March 2017- Karl's abstract was selected for a short talk at the Keystone Symposia focused on 'Sex and Gender Factors Affecting Metabolic Homeostasis, Diabetes and Obesity'.  

• February 2017- Aki Chaffin joins the lab as a graduate student in the Molecular, Cellular, and Integrative Physiology graduate group

• February 2017- Karl receives a scholarship/ travel award from the Keystone Symposia to attend the upcoming meeting focused on 'Sex and Gender Factors Affecting Metabolic Homeostasis, Diabetes and Obesity'.  Congratulations Karl!

• February 2017- Karen visits the Children's Nutrition Research Center at Baylor College of Medicine to give an invited seminar.

• September 2016- UC Davis NPB undergraduate Charity Gikura joins the lab!

• September 2016- Dr. Kimberly Russo joins the lab as a postdoctoral fellow.  Kim recently completed her PhD with Lance Kriegsfeld at UC-Berkeley.  Welcome!
